Job Details

We are seeking a civil litigation defense attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join our fully remote litigation team. This role is well-suited for an attorney who is comfortable managing cases independently while working within a collaborative team environment.Our practice focuses on general civil litigation defense matters, providing consistent case flow and hands-on litigation experience. We highly value candidates with trial experience or those who are eager to take on increased responsibility as cases move toward trial.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters from inception through resolutionDraft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memorandaTake and defend depositionsAppear for hearings, conferences, mediations, and other proceedings (remote and in-person as needed)Prepare cases for trial and assist with or lead trial efforts where applicableCommunicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and the courtsDevelop case strategy and analyze liability, damages, and risk exposureCollaborate with attorneys and staff in a remote team environment

Qualifications

3+ years of civil litigation defense experienceExperience in insurance defense, general liability, or similar litigation workStrong background in depositions, discovery, and motion practiceTrial experience or meaningful trial exposure strongly preferredAbility to independently manage a litigation caseloadStrong written and oral advocacy skills

Requirements

Active bar admission in Vermont and/or New Hampshire, or ability to waive inMassachusetts bar admission strongly preferredAdditional bar admissions are a significant plusStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to manage deadlines and multiple matters simultaneouslyComfortable working in a fully remote environment
