We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in legal support, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role demands a high level of organization, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, and a deep understanding of legal procedures and terminology. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to our litigation team, ensuring smooth case progression and efficient workflow.Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to our litigation attorneys, including but not limited to drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and maintaining case files.
- Manage the attorney calendar, scheduling court dates, meetings, and deadlines.
- Coordinate and manage discovery processes, including document collection, organization, and production.
- Prepare and file court documents in compliance with established guidelines and deadlines.
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders to coordinate meetings, depositions, and hearings.
- Track and record billable hours, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of court rules and filing procedures to ensure compliance.
- Assist with trial preparation, including the organization of exhibits, trial binders, and other materials.
- Perform administrative tasks as required, such as answering phones, maintaining office supplies, and managing correspondence.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant or similar role in a law firm or legal department.
- Proficiency in calendaring litigation deadlines and managing complex schedules.
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures, court rules, and legal terminology.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research software.
- Familiarity with document management systems and timekeeping software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- High degree of professionalism, with the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Paralegal certification or equivalent legal qualification is preferred, but not required.
