Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Litigation Paralegal with experience in insurance defense to support attorneys in all phases of civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of defense-side litigation procedures, including case management, discovery, and trial preparation.
Position Details:
- Salary: $80,000-$90,000
- Onsite position

Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of insurance defense litigation from inception through trial and appeal
- Draft, proofread, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence
- Manage case files, including organizing and maintaining electronic and physical documents
- Coordinate and track discovery, including document production, interrogatories, and requests for admission
- Prepare deposition summaries, medical summaries, and chronologies
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial dates
- Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel
- Maintain case calendars and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, trial binders, and witness files
- Review and analyze medical records, billing records, and other claim-related documentation
- E-file documents in state and federal courts
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; Paralegal certificate preferred
- 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, with a focus on insurance defense
- Familiarity with state and federal court rules and procedures
- Experience handling high-volume caseloads
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
- Strong knowledge of discovery processes and litigation timelines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in areas such as personal injury defense, premises liability, or workers’ compensation
- Familiarity with medical terminology and records review
- Trial experience supporting attorneys in courtroom settings
- Experience using e-filing systems (e.g., PACER, state-specific systems)
- Knowledge of billing software and time entry
