Job Description
Litigation Paralegal Our client located in Dallas, Texas, has an immediate need for a Malpractice or Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal. This is a direct hire opportunity.Client Profile Established North Dallas Malpractice Litigation FirmLitigation Paralegal Role The Litigation Paralegal will manage an assigned group of cases from initial intake through settlement or trial. This person will work closely with attorneys, clients, experts, medical providers, opposing counsel, and lienholders to ensure cases remain organized, deadlines are met, and matters continue moving forward. Responsibilities include: Manage assigned cases from intake through resolution Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the case Order, track, review, and organize medical, imaging, and billing records Prepare medical record chronologies using records and available technology Coordinate the delivery of records and case materials to expert witnesses Draft petitions, motions, discovery, notices, demands, expert reports, and other litigation documents Prepare Chapter 74 notices of claim and assist with applicable statutory deadlines Draft and respond to written discovery Assist attorneys with deposition, mediation, hearing, settlement, and trial preparation Calculate paid or incurred medical expenses and assist with damages documentation Calendar hearings, meetings, depositions, mediations, expert deadlines, discovery deadlines, and trial dates Communicate with opposing counsel, court personnel, medical providers, experts, and vendors Identify, notify, dispute, negotiate, and resolve Medicare, Medicaid, VA, hospital, insurance, and other liens Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files Review documents carefully for accuracy, formatting, proper party names, citations, grammar, and completeness Adjust priorities as urgent hearings, deadlines, or client needs arise Work collaboratively with attorneys and other paralegals while independently managing assigned responsibilitiesLitigation Paralegal Background Profile Minimum of two years of litigation paralegal or litigation support experience Personal injury or medical malpractice litigation experience required Plaintiff or defense personal injury experience will be considered Experience managing cases through multiple stages of litigation Experience reviewing and organizing substantial medical records Knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure Familiarity with Chapter 74 of the Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code preferred Experience using the Texas electronic filing system Knowledge of The Bluebook and proper legal citations Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, demands, and litigation correspondence Experience using legal case management software Strong calendaring and deadline management skills Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading ability Strong written and verbal communication skills Highly organized and capable of managing multiple active matters Able to work independently without constant supervision Comfortable changing priorities when urgent matters arise Compassionate and professional when communicating with clients experiencing serious injuries or loss Willing to ask questions, collaborate, and learn complex medical and legal issuesBenefits and Features 401(k) plan with employer matching Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Paid holidays Collaborative and supportive firm culture
