Skilled in pre-claim investigations, drafting legal documents, document review, and maintaining organized case files and indexes. Proficient in eDiscovery workflows, including Relativity, to efficiently manage and analyze large volumes of data. - Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial. Ascertaining calendaring deadlines will be a significant aspect of the role.
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis and Westlaw to support case preparation.
- Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, motions, subpoenas, and discovery responses.
- Review, organize and maintain document databases for litigation matters, including managing large amounts of data, production documents, and other evidence for use at trial.
- Assist with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits, and trial binders. Prepare for and attend trials, managing exhibits and all other trial support.
- Efficiently maintain and update the case management system, deposition database Opus2, and relativity database.
- Coordinate and manage routine court appearances on behalf of attorneys.
- Conduct cite checks for legal briefs and memoranda.
- Coordinate and assist with depositions, including preparation of witness files, scheduling depositions, and handling of all related details.
- A minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience in a litigation setting.
- A Paralegal Certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of the pretrial and post-trail litigation process.
- Proven experience in drafting pleadings and other legal documents.
- Proficient in legal research tools such as Lexis and Westlaw.
- Experience with discovery and depositions.
- Familiarity with maintaining a Relativity database and deposition database Opus2.
- Experience with court appearances and calendaring.
- Proficiency in preparing and filing (Efile) court documents.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
