LITIGATION PARALEGAL (General Liability & Professional Liability)Join our Hartford General Liability and Professional Liability team as a Paralegal and play an integral role in supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation. In this role, you will manage case files, assist with discovery and trial preparation, conduct legal research, and coordinate court filings in both state and federal courts. You will also prepare, issue, and coordinate subpoenas, including tracking service, managing responses, and following up on document production to ensure compliance with applicable deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who takes initiative and is committed to delivering high-quality legal support.The position offers a competitive salary between $60,000 and $70,000, based on experience. Most importantly, you'll be surrounded by colleagues who are genuinely invested in your success.A Day in the Life of a ParalegalNo two days are exactly alike, but as a General Liability and Professional Liability Paralegal, you'll play a critical role in supporting attorneys through all stages of litigation. Throughout the day, you'll manage case files, conduct legal research, prepare discovery requests and responses, or coordinate the issuance and service of subpoenas, tracking compliance and managing document production. You'll communicate with clients, courts, vendors, and outside counsel to ensure filings, discovery, and scheduling remain on track. You'll also oversee document management systems, monitor deadlines, and support case strategy by ensuring materials are organized, accurate, and readily accessible. On occasion, you will attend hearings and trials in court with attorneys. What Matters MostTo succeed in this role, you will need a robust set of skills and qualifications.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow up on subpoenas and communicate with providers to obtain needed records to support the litigation team.Assist with creating PowerPoint presentations
Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review
Prepare, serve, and track subpoenas, including monitoring compliance and coordinating document production
Assist with all phases of discovery, including drafting requests and responses, organizing productions, and managing document review.Maintain and monitor litigation calendars, including court dates, discovery deadlines, and internal milestones
Support motion practice and trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness materials, and trial binders
Communicate with clients, courts, vendors, and outside counsel regarding case status and procedural matters
Organize and manage electronic document management systems and case databases
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.1-3 years litigation experience as a paralegal or legal secretary
