Job Description
Orlando firm is looking for an experienced litigation paralegal to join their growing team. Essential Functions:
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial.
- Assists and manages the discovery process, prepares for depositions, propounds and responds to written discoveries, and prepares for expert discovery.
- Oversees and conducts document reviews and document productions; prepares documentation regarding criteria changes; tracks and reports on review progress and results.
- Perform analytical tasks, prepare witness interview memoranda, review and summarize documents, depositions, and court transcripts, and create and use substantive coding tools.
- Assists with law and motion practice, assembles motion papers and exhibits, coordinates filings of pleadings and briefs, and ensures proper service.
- Draft common pleadings, motions, notices, and other court filings.
- Assists and manages trial preparations, creates trial notebooks, identifies and organizes exhibits, coordinates witness schedules, maintains trial calendars, and communicates effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staff.
- Assists in preparation of post-trial filings, including briefings, motions for costs and sanctions, etc, and organizes the case for appeal if necessary
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience is required.
- Paralegal certificate is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
