Position Responsibilities:

  • Services and oversees repairs of all electrical equipment as required to ensure proper working condition when leaving the shop; dismantles and reassembles/rebuilds equipment; fabricates parts and equipment as required to meet shop and customer needs; diagnoses complex mechanical equipment problems
  • Adherence to all safety standards as prescribed by Sunbelt Rentals Management including company vehicle upkeep
  • Provides training and mentoring to other mechanics engaged in equipment repairs or maintenance
  • Provides training and assistance to customers on operation on Load Banks
  • Conducts preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and down time in the field
  • Make ready and receive low and medium voltage cables, all AC & DC Load Banks, power distribution items, and transformers for our rental customers
  • Troubleshoot/repair small load banks, resistor racks on large load banks, power distribution items, and low voltage cables
  • Assesses time and cost of repairs
  • Attends and participates in all Profit Center Meetings Documents projects to include daily notes, labor logs, progress reports, JSS, JSA, etc.
  • Performs safety inspections on equipment
  • Available for on call emergency service as scheduled
  • Operate basic and advanced hand tools, metering tools, forklifts, pallet jacks, and shop tools
  • Maintains a clean and safe shop work environment
  • Adheres to all company, governmental and equipment related safety requirements
  • Attends all training and manufacturing training as directed
  • Performs other duties assigned as assigned by the manager

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
  • Electrical Knowledge and Experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Able to read and understand electric schematics
  • Exhibit a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety and a high level of safety consciousness
  • Able to effectively and safely use mechanic's tools and equipment
  • Customer service skills required
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Has an operational process/system aptitude
  • Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments
  • Must be flexible regarding work assignments
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments

Physical Demands:

Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt's safety policies and guidelines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA/ADAAA.

Base Pay Range: $21.84 - 31.39
