  • Collaborate with an experienced, purpose-driven lending and finance team
About the RoleThe Loan Officer leads borrower intake, analyzes commercial real estate and community development loans, and manages loan files through closing and servicing. This front-line role balances relationship-building with borrowers and thorough credit analysis.Ideal candidates have commercial real estate finance or CDFI lending experience, work independently, and value accuracy and accountability.Key Responsibilities
  • Guide borrowers through intake, applications, and discovery calls
  • Analyze borrower and project financials, including budgets and proformas
  • Assess project feasibility and alignment with community lending products
  • Prepare credit memos with loan recommendations
  • Maintain loan files and track pipeline activity
  • Support loan servicing, including draw requests and portfolio monitoring
  • Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate closings
What You Bring
  • 4+ years commercial real estate experience
  • 2+ years commercial or CDFI lending experience
  • Experience analyzing real estate transactions and managing loan files
  • Strong financial analysis skills and Excel proficiency
  • Ability to manage multiple projects accurately and independently
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Professionalism and discretion with sensitive financial information
Bonus Experience
  • Affordable housing or community development lending
  • CDFI or mission-driven lending experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, or related field
  • Familiarity with loan servicing software (e.g., DownHome)
Work Schedule & CompensationFull-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–3:30 PM; first 90 days onsite in St. Paul with hybrid option thereafter.
