Job Description
Locum Cardiac Surgery First Assist Opportunity – Colorado
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Surgery First Assist for a full-time locum opportunity at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Colorado beginning September 2026. Join a highly collaborative cardiovascular surgery team with strong APP and physician support in a 300-bed facility.
Schedule:
- Full-time schedule – 4x10-hour shifts weekly.
- 1 night of call per week + 1 weekend/month.
- Travel and lodging provided.
- Credentialing timeframe: 90–120 days.
Case Mix & Procedures:Candidates must be highly proficient in adult cardiac surgery procedures including:
- CABG with EVH and endoscopic radial harvesting.
- Valve repair/replacement.
- Structural heart and aortic procedures.
- Thoracic and endoscopic procedures.
- LVAD experience preferred.
- Arterial line insertion/removal required.
Position Highlights:
- 100% adult patient population.
- 1–3 surgeries per day.
- Collaborative team of 5 physicians and extensive APP support.
- No clinic responsibilities.
- No teaching or provider supervision required.
Requirements:
- Board Certified.
- OR First Assist Certification.
- Active Colorado license highly preferred.
- Minimum 6 months recent cardiac surgery first assist experience.
- BLS certification.
- Clean background/malpractice history preferred.
- COVID vaccination required.
