Locum Physician Assistant (PA) - Cardiothoracic Surgery | PRN | Lexington, KY.
We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a PRN locum opportunity at a leading hospital in Lexington, KY. This role offers ongoing coverage with a predictable call schedule and the opportunity to work alongside a skilled surgical team.
Position Highlights:
- Schedule: 1 weekend/month (24-hour call: 7AM-7AM) + ongoing PTO/vacation coverage.
- Urgent Dates: June 6-8 (critical need), plus May 31-June 13 & July 20-26.
- Setting: Inpatient / OR.
- EMR: Epic.
- Ongoing opportunity for consistent future coverage.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- First assist in cardiothoracic surgery.
- Vein harvesting, chest tube placement, and perioperative care.
- Provide surgical support to CT surgeons.
Requirements:
- Active Kentucky PA license (required).
- Board Certified.
- ACLS, BLS, DEA required.
- Ability to perform CT surgery procedures independently.
- NPDB self-query (within 30 days) required at submission.
- Clean malpractice history preferred.
Additional Details:
- Credentialing: 90-110 days (must be eligible).
- Travel details must be disclosed at submission.
