• Orientation pay: $262.50–$275 (half the hourly/callback rate; orientation/training beyond 8 hours—additional details apply)
• On-call (Daily): $4,000–$4,250 per 24 hours (includes 4 hours gratis)
• 24-hour Holiday Call Rate: $6,000–$6,375 per 24 hours (includes 4 hours gratis)
• On-call (Daily): $5,400–$5,600 per 24 hours (includes 8 hours gratis)
• 24-hour Holiday Call Rate: $8,100–$8,400 per 24 hours (includes 8 hours gratis)
• Call Back: $525–$550 per hour of patient contact hours (after gratis hours are completed)
• Holiday Call Back: $787.50–$825 per holiday hour of patient contact hours (after gratis hours are completed)

What You’ll Do

• Provide GI inpatient consultation and hospital rounding during call coverage
• Perform required GI procedures as scheduled/indicated (including endoscopy and therapeutic interventions)
• Manage acute GI bleed cases and related GI emergencies
• Conduct upper and lower endoscopy services, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
• Complete rounding and in-house hospital coverage during the 24-hour shift window
• Maintain quality documentation and workflow in EPIC
• Work as solo GI coverage (no additional GI physician on assignment)

What You NeedRequired

• Board-eligible/board-certified Gastroenterology physician (credentialing required)
• Ability to cover hospital-based GI call only (no clinic)
• Experience performing the core procedures, including:
  • Colonoscopy with biopsy/polypectomy
  • Proctoscopy / flexible sigmoidoscopy
  • Upper GI endoscopy
  • PEG
  • Esophageal variceal banding and other banding/lesion management
  • Dilation as needed
  • Management of acute GI bleed

Preferred

• ERCP management experience (highly preferred)
• Demonstrated proficiency in maintaining GI procedural volume (ERCP 1–2 per week)

About the AssignmentThis is a hospital and call coverage–only locum assignment at a leading facility in Bismarck, ND, with 24-hour shifts (7am–7am) and in-house rounding/support during the assignment. You’ll provide GI coverage without another GI physician present and will work alongside hospital support staff including RNs and CRNAs; endoscopy room support is provided by nursing/CRNA teams.
