Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, is seeking highly skilled Locum Nurse Practitioners to conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for our nation's Veterans. This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute to meaningful work, enjoy flexible scheduling, and earn competitive compensation in a supportive environment.Role Overview:As a Locum Nurse Practitioner, you will primarily perform one-time, interview-based exams with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing. You will operate independently within your own office space, performing assessments within a designated 20-mile radius of Fort Polk, LA, two days per week. This PRN role offers flexibility, allowing you to work half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) shifts, with the potential for ongoing engagement. Quick credentialing and onboarding are available, enabling you to start promptly and focus on delivering quality care to Veterans in need.Required Skills:

• Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Louisiana
• Experience with general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery
• Strong interview skills and ability to perform physical assessments
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Capability to follow strict protocols and documentation requirements
• Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience with Compensation & Pension exams or military-related assessments
• Familiarity with VA or government healthcare procedures
• Experience with telehealth or remote assessments
• Additional certifications in advanced medical assessments or administration

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or higher
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine or related specialties
• Proven track record in performing medical assessments or examinations

Other Requirements:

• Own office space within a 20-mile radius of Fort Polk, LA
• Ability to travel locally as needed
• Willingness to complete training and administrative follow-up work (not separately compensated)
• No prescribing or treatment responsibilities; exams are solely interview-based with limited physical assessments
• Participation in comprehensive onboarding, including training modules (certification costs not reimbursed)
• Engagement in ongoing administrative duties such as report writing and addendums

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly Rate: $402.00 (per hour)
• Flat Rates: $600 for half-day (up to 4 hours) and $1,200 for full-day (5+ hours)
• One-time Bonus: $650 for completing all required training and first exams
