Locum Nurse Practitioner- General Medicine Houston, TXAre you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for providing essential healthcare services? Join our team as a Locum- Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine and make a meaningful impact by conducting Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This opportunity offers flexibility, competitive pay, and the chance to serve veterans nationwide, all while working independently in your own office setting.Overview We are seeking experienced General Medicine Providers to perform critical assessments for Veterans under a government contract. You will conduct interview-based evaluations, including physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing, without prescribing or providing treatment. This is a PRN, ongoing position designed for professionals who value autonomy and excellence in patient assessment. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing their own schedule and office setup.Required Skills
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
- Background in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or general medicine
- Experience with Compensation & Pension exams or similar assessments preferred
- Strong interview and physical assessment skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Certification in specific medical assessments or related specialties
- Experience with veterans healthcare or government contracts
- Familiarity with medical documentation and administrative workflows
- Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN) or higher from an accredited program
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general or internal medicine
- Prior experience conducting medical assessments for government or insurance claims is advantageous
- Own your office location in Houston, TX for conducting exams
- Willingness to perform both half-day and full-day shifts
- Compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding medical practice and assessments
- Must meet credentialing and onboarding requirements quickly
- Local candidates preferred; travel is included in rates where applicable
