We are seeking a highly qualified Locum Physician to conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, providing essential evaluations for our nation's Veterans. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to public service while working on a flexible schedule that fits your expertise and availability.In this position, you will perform brief, interview-based assessments with some physical examinations, including range of motion and muscle strength testing. You will not be involved in prescribing or treatment, focusing solely on objective evaluations. The role requires a provider with their own office setup, offering the convenience of working remotely from your location in Houston, TX.Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with active licensure
• Background in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or general medicine
• Experience with Compensation & Pension exams or familiarity with disability evaluations preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to conduct interviews efficiently
• Strong organizational skills for timely report submissions

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience working with Veterans or in a government contracting environment
• Familiarity with physical assessment techniques and documentation standards
• Certification in relevant medical specialties or credentials related to disability exams

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• At least 2 years of clinical practice in general medicine
• Prior experience with compensation or pension evaluations is advantageous but not mandatory

Other Requirements:

• Local candidates only, travel included in rates
• Ability to perform exams on a PRN basis, with the flexibility to work half or full days
• Commitment to timely report completion and administrative follow-up
• Active certification in licensure and compliance with applicable state and federal guidelines

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive hourly pay rate of $624.00
• Flat rates for exams: $800 for 4-hour shifts or less; $1600 for 5-hour shifts or longer
• One-time bonus of $650 upon completing training and first exams
• Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit
