Job Description

The positon is responsible for supporting and maintaining business strategies and operations for all direct supply parts (consignment parts) procurement (part ordering / returnable racks from / to overseas and North American suppliers / warehousing / Tier 1 supplier inventory control). The role focuses on building and launching the operation processes by aligning with the project launch master schedule to achieve the Quality, Cost & Delivery (QCD) requirements. Supports Tier1 supplier production planning by quickly responding to external changes and supporting MTMUS production planning while aspiring to meet customer’s demands.Works closely with the management team during the production stages to improve daily operations and processes and to ensure both run smoothly and in accordance with plant expectations.

Establish, Run & Manage Operations 55%

  • Works with management to develop and maintain business strategies aligned with global direct supply guidelines, which will be established by Mazda Japan.   Reports daily updates to management and team leader.
  • Supports manager and team leader to establish operations, system processes and procedures for direct supply parts such as part ordering / logistics design / warehouse operations / warehouse and Tier1 supplier inventory control / returnable racks  / custom related operations, collaboratively with Mazda Japan team members, logistics providers, and relevant parties. These processes and procedures aim to minimize costs defects, or delays.
  • Works with management and team leader to outsource logistics and warehousing operations to third party vendors.
  • Establishes the KPI (Key Performance Indicators) that relates to direct supply parts from / to overseas and North American suppliers with management and team leader.  
  • Oversees all related operations, including the warehouse, to achieve and maintain required QCD and safety performance while meeting requirements and developing targets with management and team leader.
  • Evaluates logistics and warehouse design and operation efficiency proposed by logistics providers and offers feedback to management to improve performance.
  • Quickly resolves issues concerning direct supply parts ordering and logistics operations.
  • Monitors and tracks operation processes to ensure the company is compliant to regulations, legal requirements, and safety rules.
  • Supports import / export custom operations in conjunction with the MNAO customs team.
  •  Works with manager and team leader to generate cost improvement activities and countermeasures against issues with operations and/or the delivery schedule.
  • Provides strategic contributions while successfully executing objectives assigned by management and team leader.

Administration (Contracting / Payment) 45%

  • Reviews related contracts and pricing with Manager, Team leader and legal team to ensure they are within scope of the plan operations. 
  • Evaluates and submits approvals to management and team leader for all purchases and payments for contractors.
  • Inputs and maintains data in logistics systems for proper record maintenance related to compliance and regulations.
  • Assists Logistics Manager with yearly financial audits and tracking resolutions as needed.
  • Assist management and team leader to analyzes and prepares financial reports and monitors the budget.

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

Education (Minimum):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Logistics, or another related field is preferred.   Equivalent work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Experience in the project which required cross department coordination.
  • Ability to provide strategic contributions while successfully executing objectives assigned by the management team.
  • Knowledge of logistics practices and principles and ability to understand and analyze logistics processes.
  • Collects data for reporting, identifies and defines potential issues and develop proposals that will assist management with process improvement.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking using logic, reason, creative and strategic thinking.
  • Financial reports, budgeting principles and general administrative practices, and monitors execution of the budget.
  • Effective communication, both written and verbally.
  • Interpret reports, drawings and communications as needed.
  • Strong negotiation skills.

Preferred Experience: 

  • 3+ years of experience in an automotive production parts ordering position and/or logistics operations position (including import / export part logistics) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of automotive technology is preferred.
  • Knowledge of analysis methods (PDCA, 8 D´s analysis, 7 statics tools, etc.) to analyze and solve problems.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Current passport, or ability to obtain passport, due to travel requirements will be required.

Pay Range

$69,400.00 - $100,600.00
