Logistics Coordinator - $15.00/HOUR A company in Santa Teresa, NM needs a Logistics Coordinator. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the efficient flow of traffic and materials within the facility's yard and docking areas. This role coordinates the movements of trailers, roll-offs, and containers with mule drivers to ensure operational effectiveness. The Logistics Coordinator oversees yard personnel daily performance, ensures rigorous adherence to equipment inspection protocols, acts as a primary liaison with the maintenance department to minimize downtime, and assists with scale house operations as needed. Key responsibilities include: Yard and Traffic Operations • Achieve operational effectiveness by coordinating the precise dock movements of trailers, roll-offs, flatbeds, and containers with mule drivers. • Control incoming and outgoing trailer traffic flow around the scale house and yard. • Perform accurate daily trailer inventories. • Serve as a backup operator for the scale house when necessary. Team Coordination and Oversight • Oversee the daily performance of assigned yard employees (e.g., mule drivers) and provide motivation and encouragement. • Ensure drivers rigorously complete both start-up and end-of-day procedures, including required inspections. • Ensure driver attendance at all required meetings and training sessions. • promptly notify the Supervisor of any employee performance or behavioral issues. Equipment and Maintenance Liaison • Receive all daily checklists for equipment (including vehicles and trucks) and ensure delivery to appropriate clerks for documentation. • Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure internal and external repair activities are completed promptly to minimize equipment downtime. • Ensure reporting of any equipment safety or operational issues to meet compliance standards. • Report any damages to WSR property—including vehicles, trucks, and yard infrastructure—within the same day of occurrence for immediate action. Communication and Improvement • Maintain proactive communication with all operations employees to ensure smooth, efficient operations and high levels of customer service. • Participate in ongoing continuous operational improvement projects and make recommendations for opportunistic situations. Qualifications and Requirements Education and Experience • Required: High school diploma or equivalent. • Preferred: Previous experience in a role such as a dock coordinator, yard jockey, or logistics dispatcher.
