Job Description

The Logistics Manager is a member of our German Management Team and reports to the Logistics Director Europe. The purpose of this role is to manage all customer deliveries at the lowest costs possible at the agreed customer requirements, national and international and steer an efficient use of internal and external warehouses in our 7 German glass plants.

Responsibilities

• Drive freight costs as low as possible at the required quality and safety level. Optimizing delivery performance and cost levels. Strong focus on haulier management to grow long-term performance and reduce the total number of carriers used.
• Ensure an efficient use of all plant warehouses and external warehouses.
• Ensure right logistic equipment and efficient use of logistic equipment in the German plants.
• In conjunction with manufacturing logistics and the haulier supply base, work to maximise FTL deployment.
• Ensure continuous improvement on logistic complaints, managing customer experience and cost impact.
• Demonstrate a leading role in the Ardagh core values, behaviours, policies and procedures.
• Establish a working environment which empowers collaboration, can-do attitude acting with integrity and in an ethical manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
• 5-7 years of managerial experience in logistics
• Fluent in German and English language
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Customer service focused with sense of urgency
• Strong focus on operational excellence, perfomance and cost wise
• Solid leadership, stakeholder management and engagement / negotiation skills
• Convincing interpersonal impact and personal credibility
• Proactive, detail oriented, excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
• Proven ability to setup high performing operating model, combining fact based data with expert knowledge
• Ability to plan, prioritize, think strategically and work independently
• Strong business acumen
• Understanding of German and European transportation market
• Driving license
