As an LPN, you will work within our children's residential program located in Burlington County, New Jersey. The children's residential programs provides a structured, safe environment for co-ed adolescents, ages 14-19 with developmental disabilities/mental illness.
Competencies:
The qualified candidate should: have familiarity with medication and uses; ability to communicate medication education to staff; ability to teach coping skills and gin and maintain trust; understand negative impact of mental illness and developmental disabilities; and have the ability to be an advocate for consumers
Responsibilities:
- Complete nursing assessment report within 24 hours
- Provide medication monitoring
- Provide emergency evaluation as needed
- Participate in the development and revision of Treatment Plans
- Provide training to staff, consumers, and family members
- Administer medications
- Assess youth condition under direction of the APN and RN
- Provide educational and support to direct care staff on medication administration and side effects
- Provide injections of medication as needed and prescribed by physicians
- Provide weekly health, hygiene, and sex education to youth
- Monitor for accuracy of and confirm physician's orders
- Coordinate and provide on-going assessments
- Assist in crisis intervention situations as needed
- Face to face health care monitoring
- Collaborate with healthcare providers
- Complete supporting documentation for all of the above duties
- Provide on call support 24 hours for emergencies
- Travel to 3 group homes within a 10 mile radius

Qualifications:
NJ Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License;
3 years' nursing experience with children
Valid driver's license.
