Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Long Term Care (LTC)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 13-week contract assignment in a Long Term Care (LTC) facility located in Decorah, Iowa. This is a full-time opportunity working night shifts (8-hour shifts) for a total of 40 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will have at least one (1) year of recent LTC experience and a strong commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to residents.

Schedule

• Shift: Nights

• Shift Length: 8 hours

• Weekly Hours: 40 hours

• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to residents in a long-term care setting

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

• Monitor and document residents’ conditions and report changes to the RN or physician

• Assist with care planning and interdisciplinary communication

• Ensure compliance with facility policies and state regulations

• Support residents with daily living activities as needed

Requirements

• Active Iowa LPN license (or compact license if applicable)

• Minimum 1 year of Long Term Care (LTC) experience

• Current BLS certification (AHA required)

• Strong clinical and documentation skills

• Ability to work independently on night shifts

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel or contract experience

• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
