Job OverviewAIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse – Pain Management to provide outpatient clinical nursing support within the Pain Management Clinic at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center (MOMMC). The LPN will assist physicians, registered nurses, and healthcare staff in caring for patients receiving treatment for chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, nerve pain, and pain-related procedures. Specific Duties Prepare examination and procedure rooms prior to patient appointments. Obtain and document patient histories, medications, allergies, chief complaints, and vital signs. Assist providers during outpatient pain management procedures and examinations. Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and clinic protocols. Monitor patients for adverse reactions or changes in condition and report findings appropriately. Assist with injections, post-procedure monitoring, and patient flow management. Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, chronic pain management, discharge instructions, and follow-up care. Maintain accurate electronic medical record documentation. Coordinate referrals, appointments, and continuity of care activities. Maintain clean, stocked, and operational treatment and procedure areas. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to support patient care delivery.QualificationsDegreeGraduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing or Vocational Nursing program.EducationCompletion of a practical nursing program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or an equivalent approved educational program.CertificationCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.Must be certified to place IV (intravenous) catheters and present proof of certification Experience Minimum of one (1) year of outpatient clinic, procedural clinic, or direct patient care experience preferred. Experience supporting pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or specialty procedural clinics is highly desirable.
At least one (1) year of this experience must have been in an integrative medicine, pain management, orthopedic, or rehabilitative clinic setting.
LicensureMust possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia. Schedule Monday through Friday Standard clinic hours: 0730 – 1630 Flexible scheduling may be coordinated with clinic leadership Maximum 40 hours per week No on-call requirement Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods Ability to assist patients during procedures and clinic visits Ability to lift and move clinical supplies and equipment Manual dexterity sufficient for clinical nursing duties Work EnvironmentThis position is performed in a military outpatient Pain Management clinic environment within Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center. The work setting includes direct patient interaction, specialty procedures, interdisciplinary collaboration, and electronic medical documentation.Immunization RequirementMust comply with all DHA and Medical Employee Health Program (MEHP) requirements, including annual influenza vaccination, tuberculosis screening, and required immunizations.Security RequirementMust successfully complete all background investigations, credentialing requirements, and installation access procedures required for work on Nellis Air Force Base.
Compensation: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
