Job Description

MAC PROPERTY MANAGEMENT LLC - EMPLOYER WEBSITE POSTING

Position: Custodian

DUTIES: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of residential building and the surrounding premises. Clean floors, furniture, mirrors, doors, windows, carpets, and glass of common areas like restrooms and workout facilities. Responsible for sweeping, polishing surfaces, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning toilets, sinks, mirrors, and restocking supplies such as paper towels and soap. Manage the upkeep of cleaning equipment, including carpet cleaners, floor buffers, and vacuums. Collect and dispose of waste and recyclables. Ensure the safety and security of the premises by locking doors and windows after hours and reporting any maintenance issues.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a high school diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent and must also have demonstrated experience with each of the following: (1) Performing custodial duties in residential, commercial, or institutional settings, including cleaning multiple floor types (wood, ceramic, concrete) with appropriate tools and chemical products; (2) Operating and maintaining commercial-grade custodial equipment, including vacuums (bagged and bagless), floor buffers/polishers, and carpet cleaning machines, with routine inspection, repair, and safe storage procedures; (3) Performing minor repairs to building fixtures and furniture, such as replacing light bulbs, tightening hardware, assembling furniture, and adjusting or replacing plumbing components; (4) Applying safety protocols for handling cleaning chemicals, including PPE use, ventilation checks, hazard labeling, and spill or accident prevention; and (5) Managing cleaning supply inventories, restocking restroom and locker room supplies, and implementing waste disposal and recycling practices in accordance with environmental standards. Salary: $32,698 to $50,000/year. Full-time, position located in Chicago, IL. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
