Machine Operator

Location: Portland, OR

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:30AM - 2:00PM

What you'll do

  • Machine Operation: Operate molding machinery safely and efficiently following machine settings and production instructions to produce molds. Daily tasks include managing machine timing settings and production cycles to maintain consistent output. Success means mastering processes quickly and consistently meeting production objectives.

  • Process Monitoring: Monitor automated manufacturing processes involving heating, molding, sand placement, vibration, rotation, and curing operations to ensure quality and efficiency.

  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE continuously in a warm, noisy manufacturing environment. Success includes demonstrating 100% commitment to zero harm behaviors.

  • Physical Handling: Safely handle molds weighing up to approximately 35 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to heat and noise.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Molding Department team under the leadership of Steve Davis, contributing to a supportive and coaching-focused environment.

  • Travel Requirements: No travel required.

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What you'll bring

Must-haves:

  • Machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to work in physically demanding, warm, and noisy conditions with continuous PPE use

  • Reliability and willingness to work early morning shifts

  • Ability to lift molds weighing up to approximately 35 pounds

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in machine shops or assembly/manufacturing production

  • Familiarity with HMI (Human Machine Interface) touchscreen systems

  • Previous exposure to hydraulic and pneumatic systems (maintenance not required)
