The Impact You'll MakeOperates and setups of conventional, numerical control (NC), and special purpose, machines and machining centers to machine metal components by performing the following duties. This is a 1st Shift position, shift hours 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. What You'll Be DoingDemonstrates a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work areaFollows safety regulations and actively contributes to work safetyFollows all standard work, control plans, all processes and quality guidelinesMust be able to operate multiple machines and perform all Total Productive Environment (TPE) activities as required and have experience working with automation (Robotics)Verify that machine is running at proper cycle timeSelects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machinesStarts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as requiredDiagnose and rectify normal problems on machines and verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specificationsResponds with commitment and sensitivity toward satisfying the needs of internal and external customers.Promotes quality and continuous improvement philosophyEvaluates situations objectively and demonstrates the ability to make timely decisions that are intended to have a positive effect on work performanceOrganizes and prioritizes work assignments to complete assignments/tasks on time, with quality, and has the ability to anticipate problem areas in advanceApply creative approaches and ideas to solve problems maximizing effective use of appropriate resourcesDemonstrates flexibility in approach and ideas, responds positively and supports changes in procedures, process, technology, responsibility and assignmentsMaintains cooperative and productive working relationships and communications with all employees, participating effectively as a team member or as a team leader. LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
