Job Description
Job Title: MachinistLocation: Onsite – Houston, TX (Rankin Road)Experience: 5–8 YearsRate: $28-$33/hr on C2CDuration: 6+ monthsKey skills: 5 axis, mill turn machine programming, GD&TJob Summary We are seeking an experienced Machinist to support precision manufacturing operations at our Houston (Rankin Road) facility. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience operating turning and milling machines, with the ability to set up and run equipment independently while maintaining high quality and safety standards.Key Responsibilities
- Operate turning and milling machines to manufacture precision components
- Work with Mazak Mazatrol and Hurco WinMax controls (experience preferred)
- Operate manual machines (lathe, mill, etc.) as required
- Perform machine setup including tooling, fixturing, offsets, and program verification with minimal supervision
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings and blueprints, including Dimensional tolerances and GD&T symbols and callouts
- Conduct in process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
- Ensure components meet quality, accuracy, and specification requirements
- Follow all safety, quality, and standard operating procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- 5–8 years of experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing or job shop environment
- Proven experience operating turning and milling machines
- Strong knowledge of machine setup and machining processes
- Ability to operate manual machines when required
- Excellent understanding of blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and workmanship
