About the Role:
Vytwo is looking for an experienced Mainframe Lead to join our dynamic team supporting the banking and finance sector in Dallas or Austin, TX. This is a hybrid opportunity (3 days onsite per week) where you'll take ownership of critical mainframe systems that power financial operations at scale. Responsibilities:
- Lead mainframe development, maintenance, and optimization efforts for banking and financial systems
- Oversee and mentor a team of mainframe developers and engineers
- Design, code, test, and debug mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and/or DB2
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Ensure system performance, availability, and security of mainframe environments
- Drive modernization initiatives and integration with distributed systems
- Manage incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management for mainframe platforms
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on mainframe experience in a banking or financial services environment
- Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and/or IMS
- Proven experience in a lead or senior technical role managing mainframe teams
- Strong understanding of financial systems, core banking platforms, or payment processing
- Experience with mainframe performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work onsite in Dallas, TX or Austin, TX 3 days per week
