Job Description

Location:

North Quincy, MA

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.
  • Strong knowledge in PL1, COBOL, DB2, JCL, and SQL Stored Procedure Development.
  • Proficiency in RTC IDZ tools and JIRA.
  • Experience with Online CICS, MQ, and Batch Processing.
  • Excellent debugging and optimization skills.
  • Good understanding of design patterns.
  • Experience in financial services is a plus.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with System Z - Enterprise COBOL.
  • Knowledge of IT IS_AMS_Mainframe_IMS Administration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee and review the work of mainframe developers.
  • Participate in all aspects of software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.
  • Provide support for fixing defects during the testing cycle.
  • Apply agile methodologies to streamline development and testing processes.
  • Maintain high standards for code quality.
  • Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, PL1, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
  • Support knowledge such as checking mainframe logs and fixing job abends.
