Job Description

Job Summary: The Service Advisor is responsible for overseeing the repairs, installations of parts, and upkeep of company equipment. This position plays a crucial role in interacting with customers, providing excellent service while coordinating maintenance and repair services.Essential Job Functions:Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and requestsIssues payment to vendors through Multiple electronic meansUtilize third party vendors to facilitate roadside assistance and repairsCoordinate with dispatch when a unit of the fleet is in need of repairCommunicates with internal and external customers in a professional manner at all timesProcess repair invoices, create and issue purchase orders to vendorsUtilize Transman software to record and monitor breakdown events.Communicate effectively with drivers, vendors, and customers both verbally and in writingUtilize tools provided to identify the location of assets (Peoplenet, LAtLon)Familiarization with compliance rules to ensure repairs do not put a driver in hours of service violationsCoordinate and communicate with oncoming and off going shifts to ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner and these repairs are documentedCoordinate repairs with technicians at terminals for over the road DriversProcess payments and send to correct department assets for repair when a bill back is requiredAs needed prepare CIP bay for dayshift by starting water heaters and pumpsMaintain a positive and professional attitude toward customers at all timesOther related duties as assigned

Qualifications:Required:High School Diploma or equivalentValid Driver's license in state of residency with acceptable driving recordMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to the company random drug and alcohol programGood communication and organizational skillsExceptional problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projectsExcellent written and verbal communications skillsAbility to work any schedule including nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to work collaboratively with team members and other departmentsPreferred:Minimum 1 year experience in customer service role, preferably in the automotive or transportation industryKnowledge of maintenance softwareKnowledge of DOT, FMCSA regulations or the transportation industryPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential function of this job. Physical Demands: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended period. This is mostly a sedentary office classification, although standing in outdoor work areas and walking between terminals, maintenance shops and CMV operating areas for short periods can be necessary. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator, and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach push and pull. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment: The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment, a CMV Terminal environment, and outdoors, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office/CMV equipment. Exposure to various climate conditions, fumes, dust, odors, oil/grease, and gasses.
