The Maintenance Inventory Specialist follows Maintenance Excellence best practices to support the Maintenance Department by ensuring necessary spare parts and supplies are available when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  •     Maintains stock levels for repair and maintenance parts, including descriptions, pricing, location, and labeling of all maintenance inventory.Operates and maintains inventory data fields in the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), including identification of parts and tools by class and stock numbers.
  •     Contacts vendors as needed to obtain price quotes, follow up on parts, and coordinate service requests.Performs physical inventory cycle counts of spare parts and supplies on a regular basis.
  •     Implements required adjustments, additions, or deletions of inventory items to prevent duplication of consumable and repair parts and materials.Establishes minimum and maximum levels and reorder points for all parts and materials following Maintenance Excellence best practices.
  •     Collaborates with the Maintenance Planner to assemble project and work order kits.Uphold and lead participation in Corporate Responsibility initiatives, including Zero Waste and sustainability, social advocacy, and MMAD volunteering opportunities.
  •     This position has food safety responsibilities.Perform other duties as assigned.SKILLS

  •     Time ManagementQUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  •     2 or more years of experience in maintenance inventory, spare parts management, or inventory control; or 1 or more years of experience with an advanced degree.Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  •     Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, correspondence, drawings, and memos.Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel required; experience with CMMS software strongly preferred.
  •     A valid driver’s license and a forklift and electric pallet jack certification will be required upon job placement.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, see, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. All applicants must have the ability to stay at work station for three continuous hours.FLSA Status Exempt
