The person hired for the position of MAINTENANCE MACHINING SPECIALIST will work at our Cynthiana, KY.

The Impact You Will Make in this Role:

As a(n) Production Operator I, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. You will provide support for maintenance and manufacturing operations by completing technical projects, supporting engineering projects, and coaching maintenance craft people.

Here, you will make an impact by:

• Coordinating daily activities and project work using the CMMS system and in collaboration with the Team Advisor.
• Developing expertise in operating and maintaining Machine Shop equipment to ensure timely and effective repairs of equipment breakdowns.
• Applying advanced machining techniques, including tool and die work, to support equipment repair and optimization.
• Designing, machining and fabricating systems and components to support plant operations.
• Managing raw material inventory to support maintenance and project requirements efficiently.
• Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment and sharing technical knowledge with the maintenance team to enhance overall skill levels.
• Collaborating with operators, planners, engineers, supervisors, and GS teams to identify and resolve root causes of equipment and system inefficiencies.
• Engaging in cross-functional assignments aligned with plant initiatives and business priorities.
• Defining lead, and execute projects that support equipment performance, maintenance strategies, and safety initiatives.
• Supporting maintenance operations as needed to meet business demands, including:
• Working overtime
• Being available 24/7 for urgent equipment issues
• Flexibility to adjust shifts for critical business needs.
• Complete other duties as assigned or necessary including the willingness to work overtime, various shifts, and to be on-call.

Your Skills and Expertise:

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
• Five (5) years of machinist experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Two (2) years of maintenance machining experience in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Associate of Applied Science in industrial Maintenance Technology or equivalent experience
• Ability to TIG weld stainless steel, aluminum, and cast iron
• Proficient with CNC machines and programming
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Proficient with measurement instruments
• Proficient with manual lathes, mills and CNCs
• Ability to perform stick and MIG welding

All candidates must successfully complete 3M's Maintenance Skilled Craft test battery.
