Maintenance Manager – Food Manufacturing

Jackson, Mississippi Area

gpac is working with a well-established, rapidly growing national food manufacturer seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations within a high-volume production facility.

This individual will be responsible for building a strong maintenance team, improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting continued plant growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a multi-skilled maintenance team across all production shifts
• Oversee daily maintenance operations, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and work-order execution
• Improve equipment reliability, uptime, and overall plant performance
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, HACCP, refrigeration, and plant safety requirements
• Manage the maintenance budget, parts inventory, contractors, and vendor relationships
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to support production goals
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and extend equipment life
• Support capital projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance leadership within food, beverage, protein, or a similar high-volume manufacturing environment
• Meat or protein processing experience is preferred but not required
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and industrial troubleshooting knowledge
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration, packaging equipment, conveyors, and processing machinery
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage KPIs, and create accountability
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, safety programs, and maintenance best practices
