The Maintenance Manager provides technical support for Plant Maintenance Policies and Procedures and the Plant Safety Program, independently leading most projects with minimal direction.

Maintenance Planning & Execution

  • Plan, schedule, and execute all PM and PdM activities with ≥95% on‑time completion using the CMMS (MaintainX).
  • Ensure all equipment operates safely, reliably, and within specification; verify maintenance work is accurate, documented, and compliant before release to production.
  • Respond promptly to equipment downtime; coordinate technicians, vendors, and operations to restore functionality quickly.
  • Maintain plant assets including utilities, boilers, pressure vessels, refrigeration, electrical systems, and structural equipment.
  • Follow the approved escalation process for safety, food safety, or production‑critical events including machine/equipment downtime.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce GMP, HACCP, FSMA, sanitation, and housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Prevent contamination hazards caused by maintenance work (e.g., water, debris, metal, lubricants).
  • Comply with OSHA/HIOSH, NFPA 70E, NEC, and internal safety standards; maintain valid permits, inspections, and certifications for regulated equipment.
  • Enforce LOTO, confined space, machine guarding, electrical safety, and PPE programs; stop unsafe work immediately and drive corrective actions.
  • Ensure technicians are trained and qualified for assigned tasks; maintain a clean, organized, hazard‑free maintenance shop.
  • Report incidents and near misses within required timelines; ensure corrective follow‑up.

Leadership & Administration

  • Lead, coach, and hold technicians accountable for performance, documentation, safety, conduct, and time & attendance.
  • Provide daily direction; coordinate priorities with Operations and Quality; maintain professional communication with all departments.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities (time approvals, work order closeout, purchasing, reporting) accurately and on time.

  • Maintain 95% inventory accuracy for critical spare parts and reorder levels.
  • Oversee contractor/vendor performance; ensure all work meets standards.
  • Support capital planning and lead assigned projects through completion; coordinate resources and provide liaison with contractors, vendors, corporate technical personnel, and consultants.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are logged into the CMMS before end of shift.
  • Complete every work order with documented cause, action taken, and verification/return‑to‑service checks.
  • Maintain PM and PdM compliance at or above requirements.
  • Provide accurate weekly reporting on backlog, downtime, PM completion, and resource needs.

Reliability & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for major or repeat equipment failures.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) within defined timelines.
  • Reduce reactive maintenance in favor of planned and predictive maintenance; demonstrate measurable improvements in equipment reliability and uptime.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
