Job Description
Our growing food processing client in Oklahoma is seeking a senior-level Maintenance Manager to build, improve, and implement maintenance practices in an 800-employee plant with multiple shifts. Maintaining plant equipment for consistent daily production, arranging processing lines for efficient use, and improving processes will be a major focus of this position. This is a full-time day shift manager position with a generous six-figure salary, excellent benefits including a 401K match and annual bonus, and the opportunity to grow your career. What You’ll Do:
- Ensure that daily operational issues are dealt with in a productive and organized manner. Manage multiple key areas, including electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, wastewater, Pacmac, and the Hazmat team.
- Lead and guide the work of your four direct reports to ensure consistent cross-functional coordination in a busy plant. Communicate effectively with senior management and leaders in other departments.
- Coordinate planning and construction needs to ensure that processing lines are ready for any additions and/or changes to plant operations.
- Oversee and maintain all required safety and health standards to ensure compliance with Federal, state, local, OSHA and company regulations.
- Provide personnel with necessary tools to keep the facility, equipment, and processes well-maintained. This includes not only physical items and a safe environment, but also proper training and knowledge for employees.
- Develop and direct Capital and Expense Budget projects.
- Maintain cordial relationships with vendors, regulators, and auditors.
- This position requires occasionally working afternoon, night, or weekend shifts, with extra pay for sixth / seventh days if required.
Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Hands-on expertise in the electrical and mechanical fields, with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, including at least five (5) years of management in meat, poultry, and/or protein food manufacturing. A formal degree is desirable but not required. Experience with breading, batter, and fryer equipment, production lines, and associated processes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of refrigeration, wastewater, and related standards and functions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, to assess shifting priorities, and to respond with good judgment to known or unknown situations that may arise. Strong problem-solving skills are necessary, with the ability to resolve issues effectively.
- Computer savvy with Excel and MS Office Suite; understanding of CAD and PLCs.
- Ability to use PPE as required within the plant; occasionally lift up to 40 pounds; and handle exposure to cold and hot environments.
- A proactive leader who can relate well and is a positive motivator to all levels of staff, management, and outside contacts.
- If not already a local resident, you must be willing to reside within thirty minutes of the plant location within six months of your starting date.
