Maintenance Mechanic - 2Nd Shift

Food manufacturer in the Lebanon, IN area is seeking a Maintenance Technician over 2nd shift. You’ll be responsible for keeping high-speed food processing and packaging lines running while maintaining strict FDA/SQF compliance. Industry experience preferred, but any manufacturing experience will be considered.

Core Responsibilities

• Emergency Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures on conveyors, mixers, fillers, and case packers.

• Electrical/Controls: Troubleshoot 480V 3-phase systems, VFDs, sensors, and basic PLC issues.

• Food Safety (GMP): Ensure all repairs use food-grade lubricants and meet sanitary standards—no "temporary" fixes that compromise product integrity.

• Changeovers: Perform and optimize equipment setups for different product runs to minimize downtime.

• Fabrication: Conduct light TIG welding or machining to get a line back up and running.

Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years in industrial maintenance (Food/Pharma preferred).

• Technical: Strong proficiency in pneumatics, hydraulics, and gearboxes.

• Systems: Ability to log work orders and parts usage in a CMMS.

• Physical: Ability to work in varying temperatures (coolers/ovens) and lift up to 50 lbs.
