Maintenance SpecialistPosition Information$21 to $25 hourlyHeath, Dental, Vision, Long Term and Short-Term Disability, Life401k with 4% Employer MatchPaid Family LeaveSummary of PositionThe Maintenance Specialist role plays an important part in helping our church reflect the excellence and hospitality of Christ. This position assists the Maintenance Team in keeping all facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for members, guests, and ministry activities. The focus of this role is to help steward the church’s buildings and grounds, ensuring they remain a place of worship, fellowship, and service. This role includes supporting event set-ups and tear-downs, as well as helping to secure the church and ensure the safety of staff and congregants so that every gathering runs smoothly and honors God through order, care, and preparation. Essential Functions
- Maintain all visible areas of the facility to uphold the church’s commitment to excellence and hospitality.
- Support ministry and event logistics by setting up and tearing down furniture, equipment, and supplies as directed.
- Assist with moving and reconfiguring office furniture to meet ministry and staff needs.
- Ensure all rooms are ready to welcome guests and facilitate ministry gatherings that honor God.
- Participate in Christ Church staff life by attending all-staff meetings, church sponsored events, worship, training events and contributing to a culture of collaboration and encouragement.
- Engage in ongoing personal and professional development through training, reading, coaching or mentoring, in order to grow as a leader and servant of Christ.
- Collaborate across ministries to ensure alignment, share resources, and strengthen unity on our staff teams.
- Demonstrate and model Christ Church’s core values in daily work, relationships and service to others.
- Maintain a posture of flexibility by assisting with projects or assignments outside the immediate scope of the role when needed.
- Contribute to a culture of grace, care and prayer by being available to support, encourage and pray with staff and volunteers and congregants as appropriate.
- This role serves as part of the Operations team, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for all who enter the church. Duties may include working with cleaning chemicals and maintenance equipment. The position requires physical activity such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods while following all safety procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for staff and guests. On occasion, this role may respond to unexpected cleaning needs such as spills or illness-related incidents to ensure that all areas remain sanitary and presentable for ministry activities and guests.
- Support and model individual spiritual formation i.e. Worship, Grow and Serve. (Weekly worship, prayer, scripture reading, small group, volunteering/service, etc.).
- Regularly attends worship and participates in ministry events at Christ Church or a Christ Church campus unless exempted by Christ Church leadership.
- Seeks opportunities and participates in authentic worship, exalting and enjoying God as one of life’s greatest purposes and pleasures.
