Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor will perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures in building. Assists in various maintenance and warehouse department functions and tasks and assists with the performance of various duties. Performs variety of skilled duties in one or more of the building trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor electrical, or other recognized crafts for the purpose of maintaining, repairing the building.

- Repairs, maintains, and installs machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous operations.
- Performs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
- Assists in ongoing preventive maintenance program in conjunction with other engineering and maintenance staff.
- Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Identifies low levels in department inventory; maintains inventory including proper storage and knowledge of use.
- Assists in compliance with Hazard Communication Program, including Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), labeling, storing and handling of materials, etc.
- Assists with the identification of safety procedures, equipment and protective clothing requirements.
- Responds to work orders as directed by management.
- Assists in the application of key control policies and procedures.
- Some travel may be required.
- Regular and predictable attendance at the Company's place of business during scheduled work hours is an essential function of this job, unless otherwise required by federal, state or leave of absence laws.
- Working knowledge of Building Automation Controls preferred.
- Periodically perform on call and overtime duties as outlined by General Manager.
Skills
- Minimum of three years relevant work experience in a facilities, maintenance or building technician role.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours and weekend assignments.
- Knowledge of manual and electrical hand tools. Must be able to operate a forklift, light truck and other related motorized equipment.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities. Hiring of Maintenance Tech staff. Training of Maintenance Tech staff members. Supervision of Tech staff members. Managing and supervision of Porter staff members.
Education
- High school or vocational school diploma and minimum of four years related trades training or equivalent work experience in maintenance and equipment repair is required.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.
- Work involves frequent periods of standing and walking, which may include climbing ladders and staircases.
- Work involves stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning and reaching, bending at the waist. Indoor/ outdoor work environment with exposure to extreme weather (Snow removal duties as needed)
- Must be able to perceive the nature of sound, utilize near and far vision, depth perception, provide oral information, and possess the manual dexterity to handle and work with various materials and objects which are essential aspects of this position.
