Job Description
Meyer Utility Structures is seeking a Maintenance Tech for our plant located in Steele, AL. As a Maintenance Tech. you'll use blueprints, schematics, small/power tools, and electronic test equipment to perform a variety of maintenance tasks. You'll determine causes of operating problems in areas including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical systems/components, HVAC, carpentry, electrical fixtures/switches/power sources, and mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

What you'll do:
- Use Schematics, small/power tools and electronic test equipment to perform a variety of maintenance tasks and determine causes of operating problems in areas including but not limited to electrical systems/components, electrical fixtures/switches/power sources and mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on production equipment.
- Perform high voltage electrical repairs. (e.g., controls, relays).
- Make mechanical and electronic or electrical repairs on computer - controlled equipment.
- Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Troubleshoot electronically controlled production equipment.
- Maintain machinery according to preventative maintenance program and maintain documentation of maintenance services in maintenance management software.
- Follow all safety rules and practices.
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Ability to understand principles of mechanical and electrical controls and understand general mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Ability to read blueprints and verify dimensional requirements.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
