Job Description
Maintenance Tech Location: 3013 Beale Avenue, Suite B-106, Altoona, PA 16601 Reports To: Property Specialist / Facilities Manager Full-Time | Regular | Non-Exempt
Blair Companies Real Estate is seeking a dependable Maintenance Tech to support property maintenance operations and ensure safe, functional, and well-maintained facilities. This is a hands-on role requiring general knowledge of facility components, mechanical and repair skills, and strong attention to detail.
What You'll Do:
On-Site Property Duties
- Perform weekly property visits and inspections
- Identify and report hazards or needed repairs
- Monitor and maintain essential equipment
Office/Administrative Tasks
- Report maintenance findings for budgeting and planning
- Maintain job logs, timesheets, and to-do lists
- Keep accurate records and inventory
General Maintenance Projects
- Support with seasonal care, lawn/snow maintenance, painting, restroom upkeep
- Perform small engine repairs, oil changes, and routine servicing
- Assist with training less experienced team members
Tenant & Contractor Relations
- Communicate with tenants on maintenance needs and resolutions
- Support problem-solving with a helpful and professional approach
What You'll Bring:
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and electrical repairs and troubleshooting
- Ability to read blueprints and schedules
- Comfortable with Excel, Word, and basic digital communication
- Willingness to shovel, salt, mow, clean, and assist with all routine maintenance needs
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset
