- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on cardio, strength, and functional training equipment (e.g., treadmills, ellipticals, selectorized machines, racks).
- Respond to service requests and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions in a timely and professional manner.
- Accurately diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues.
- Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Ensure all tools and replacement parts are organized and stocked for efficient use.
- Coordinate with facilities teams as needed.
- Assist with the delivery, installation, and calibration of new fitness equipment.
- Uphold safety and cleanliness standards in all maintenance areas.
- Collaborate with fitness staff to report recurring issues or identify high-use equipment needing additional support.
- Recommend equipment upgrades or replacement as parts as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate’s degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in mechanical repair or facilities maintenance within the fitness industry.
- Familiarity with major commercial fitness equipment brands (e.g., Life Fitness, Technogym, Precor, Matrix, StarTrak). Must be or willing to be certified.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read schematics and service manuals.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. and work on knees or ladders as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for multi-site coverage).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with fitness software or digital consoles.
- Vendor management or equipment procurement experience.
- HVAC or general facilities repair knowledge.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- This role may involve travel between multiple fitness locations.
- Work may be performed during or outside of regular business hours to minimize member disruption.
- Exposure to mechanical parts, electrical components, and cleaning agents may occur.
