Job Description

Title: Industrial Maintenance TechnicianLocation: Cary, ILHire Type: Direct HireShift 4:20pm to 12:30am, Monday - FridayCompensation: $30-$33/hr plus $1.00/hr shift differentialBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO 

Overview:The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electro-mechanical production equipment and high-speed manufacturing equipment to support safe, efficient, and reliable production operations. This role performs preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, minor repairs, machine setup support, and basic diagnostics while working closely with senior maintenance personnel. 

Job Duties: 

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on high-speed manufacturing equipment and production machinery.
  • Support production operations by performing operator and material handling duties as needed.
  • Operate, monitor, and inspect electro-mechanical production equipment to identify potential maintenance concerns.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting, diagnostics, and minor repair activities under the guidance of senior maintenance technicians.
  • Assist with machine setup, tooling changes, and component changeovers on high-speed manufacturing equipment.
  • Open maintenance work orders and coordinate replacement parts through the maintenance management system.
  • Clean, inspect, lubricate, and maintain electro-mechanical production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Rebuild, replace, and repair mechanical components as required.
  • Perform corrective, restorative, and preventative maintenance activities on production equipment.
  • Support ongoing preventative maintenance programs designed to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation within SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate complex electrical, mechanical, and control system problems to senior maintenance personnel.
  • Support product quality, workplace safety, and continuous improvement initiatives during all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Review production schedules to prioritize maintenance and equipment support requirements.
  • Assist team leads and maintenance personnel with departmental coverage and operational needs.
  • Complete production logs, maintenance records, troubleshooting reports, and shift communications.

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Experience performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repair in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical production equipment, production machinery, and manufacturing systems.
  • Experience replacing electrical sensors and performing basic electrical maintenance.
  • Understanding of machine setup, operation, and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience maintaining and repairing industrial equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues on high-speed manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and maintenance documentation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret gauges, measurement devices, and inspection tools.
  • Basic computer skills and mathematical proficiency.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety, quality, and equipment reliability.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive physical activities for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs and safely access production equipment.
  • Ability to hear alarms, warning signals, and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment.
