Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianDivision: Firelands FabricationReports to: Shop SupervisorFLSA: HourlyPosition Summary:The Maintenance Technician is to support the day-to-day maintenance and operation of our fabrication shop. This is a hands-on, first-shift position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining shop equipment and tools to help keep operations running safely and efficiently.Essential Functions:
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and compressed air systems on shop equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electric and pneumatic hand tools
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on gas and diesel engines
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other material-handling equipment
  • Operate and assist with maintaining fabrication equipment
  • Use plasma torches and oxygen/acetylene torches
  • Perform general preventative maintenance and equipment repairs
  • Assist with other shop and facility maintenance needs as necessary
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with industrial or fabrication equipment preferred
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Experience with gas and diesel engines
  • Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment
  • Experience with plasma and oxygen/acetylene torches
  • Welding experience is a plus
  • Dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working independently
Working Conditions: The primary work location will be within a manufacturing facility equipped with modern machinery and tools. The facility is designed to provide a controlled environment for welding operations. General start and stop times vary depending on the project, but normally range from 6:00am-4:30pm, normally working four (4)-10 hour days.
