Maintenance Technician
Onsite | Full-Time
Kowalski Companies, Inc. is a 105-year-old family-owned company that manufactures quality food products. With three facilities located in Michigan and Ohio, we are looking for a partner to continue the legacy.
Role Overview
We are looking to add an experienced Maintenance Technician to our growing team! If you have experience with equipment repair, HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems — and you're eager to learn and expand your skills — this is a great opportunity for you. You'll work alongside experienced staff, gain valuable exposure, and play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, dismantle, repair, and reassemble production equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) to keep operations running.
- Respond quickly to requests from management, QA, and production staff.
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with plant staff.
- Work from schematics, prints, and written/verbal instructions.
- Perform building and plumbing repairs, welding, cutting, and pipe fitting.
- Collaborate with outside vendors on building and equipment services.
- Support any of our three plant locations when needed.
- Safely operate forklifts and other equipment.
- Complete tasks with minimal direct supervision.
Qualifications
- Must be 18+ years old.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent); trade-related training preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing (food production experience is a plus!).
- Strong mechanical ability and knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems.
- Forklift operator license (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to manage daily work assignments independently and follow through to completion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Schedule
- 8–10-hour shifts
- Day shift, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend availability as needed
