Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Electrical/PLC)
Client: Food Manufacturing Company• Location: Lake Odessa, MI• Job Type: Full-Time (Permanent)• Shift: 2nd Shift
Job Summary
Hands-on maintenance role focused on electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting, and equipment reliability in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Critical for minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth production operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical equipment issues• Troubleshoot PLC systems (Allen-Bradley preferred)• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance• Maintain automation systems, controls, and instrumentation• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and PandIDs• Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, calibration tools)• Follow safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)• Respond quickly to breakdowns and restore operations• Document maintenance activities and work orders
Core Duties
• Electrical and PLC troubleshooting• Mechanical repair and maintenance• Equipment uptime and reliability support• Root cause analysis• Maintenance documentation and compliance

• Food manufacturing plant (high-speed production)• Physically active, hands-on role• Fast-paced with downtime-critical operations• Requires flexibility for weekends/off-shifts

• PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley) 3 5 years• Electrical systems (motors, drives, sensors) 3 6 years• Mechanical maintenance and repair 2 5 years• Blueprint and schematic reading 2 years• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis 3 years• Diagnostic tools (multimeter, oscilloscope) 2 years
Preferred Skills
• Food manufacturing experience• SAP / CMMS systems• Instrumentation (RTDs, 4 20 mA systems)• Automation systems maintenance
Certifications / Education
Electrical or Maintenance Journeyman License (Michigan) Required High School Diploma or GED Technical Degree (Electrical/Mechatronics) Preferred
