Job Description

The YouVersion Major Donor Relationship Manager (DRM) advances our vision of reaching everyone, everywhere, every day with God's Word by cultivating, stewarding, and growing relationships with major donors and high-capacity prospects passionate about digital Bible engagement. This role partners closely with Development leadership and cross-functional teams to provide compelling giving opportunities, confidently invite investment, and ensure donors remain valued members of the YouVersion Community.

YouVersion was created by the local church in 2007 and remains a ministry of Life.Church today. At Life.Church, our mission is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Our team is committed to reaching people world wide through innovative technology. And YouVersion is one of the ways we get to do that. Life.Church is a multi-site Christian church meeting in the United States and globally at Life.Church Online.

By God's grace, more than one billion people have engaged with Scripture through the YouVersion Family of Apps - and with billions more still unreached, the opportunity before us is immense. The Major Donor Relationship Manager builds long-term, trust-based relationships that are needed to accelerate the vision of YouVersion to billions more.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of approximately 125 major donors, developing individualized engagement strategies for each relationship.
  • Build long-term, trust-based partnerships that ensure donors feel known, spiritually encouraged, and clearly connected to the impact of their giving.
  • Conduct consistent and meaningful touch points with existing major donors, including in-person meetings, phone calls, handwritten notes, and personalized communication.
  • Thoughtfully identify and pursue high-capacity new individuals and families, building meaningful pathways that invite them into deeper relationship and major donor partnership with YouVersion.
  • Proactively cultivate and confidently invite donors to invest at increasing levels in alignment with ministry priorities.
  • Track portfolio activity and progress within CRM to ensure strong follow-through and measurable growth.
  • Support and participate in strategic donor gatherings such as Accelerate and regional events.
  • Proactively uncover new stories of life change, share them with the Donor Impact Manager for broader communication, and use them in donor conversations to inspire deeper engagement with YouVersion's vision.
  • Partner with Development Impact Manager, along with the Marketing and Creative teams, to understand what is working and opportunities to engage givers.

Skills Needed to Succeed

  • 3-5 Years of Major Donor Relationship management experience.
  • Financial fluency in charitable giving vehicles, including cash, appreciated securities, donor-advised funds (DAFs), stock transfers, and basic planned giving concepts.
  • Working knowledge of tax considerations relevant to major donors (capital gains implications, required minimum distributions, charitable deductions), with the ability to engage confidently in conversation while partnering appropriately with financial advisors.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems with innovation.
  • Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to maintain and foster partnerships.
  • Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects.
  • Maintain flexibility and initiate processes and projects while exemplifying a high level of customer service.
