Hours of Job
- Full Time- 72 hours/pay
- Days- 8 & 12 hour shifts
- Weekend coverage averages 1 weekend shift/month
- Holiday coverage averages 1 holiday shift/year
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic radiographic imaging, mammography and DEXA imaging and/or other advanced imaging as required.
- Confirms patient's clinical history with procedure assuring information is documented and available.
- Operates radiology imaging equipment and associated accessories.
- Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
- Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
- Assists licensed practitioner with specialized interventional imaging procedures.
- Completes all necessary paperwork associated with Imaging Procedures and accurately charges exams and supplies.
Requirements
- Basic radiography and/or mammography skills. Must be educationally prepared and clinically competent to perform radiographic images, mammograms, DEXA and interventional studies.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to concentrate for long periods of time, work independently and exercise good judgment, keyboarding, and basic PC knowledge.
- May be required to work on-call or standby hours as determined by work area needs.
Education/Certifications
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
- Advanced education may be required for specific imaging modalities. Must meet all requirements for continuing education set forth by the AART.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography (ARRT) preferred, hold a current valid Ohio Radiologic License in the category of Radiology (R).
Experience
- No previous experience required. 1 year preferred.
- Experience may be required for specific imaging modalities.
- Must be educationally prepared and clinically competent to perform radiographic images, mammograms, DEXA, and Interventional studies.
