Job Description

Meet the Moment with Alteryx

We're living through a once-in-a-generation shift in how work gets done. Data, automation, and AI are quickly becoming the center of every business decision - and Alteryx is leading the transformation.

You'll be working on the challenges that sit at the heart of modern business. No matter your role, the work you do will help organizations move faster, see more clearly, and tackle questions that used to feel impossible.

If you're ready to meet the moment with innovation, curiosity, and excellence, there's a place for you here.

We’re looking for problem solvers, innovators, and dreamers who are searching for anything but business as usual. Like us, you’re a high performer who’s an expert at your craft, constantly challenging the status quo. You value inclusivity and want to join a culture that empowers you to show up as your authentic self. You know that success hinges on commitment, that our differences make us stronger, and that the finish line is always sweeter when the whole team crosses together.

We are hiring a Manager, UX Research to build and scale a high-impact research team. You will play a key role in evolving how research drives product decisions across the organization, with the opportunity to put your stamp on how UXR engages with product and design. You will lead a mixed-methods research team that connects human insight with behavioral data, in partnership with Telemetry, VOC, and Experience Measurement to create a unified view of the customer. You are accountable for the rigor, quality, and impact of both qualitative and quantitative research, ensuring insights drive action, not just output.. This role reports to the Sr. Director, Customer Signals.

What You’ll Do

Team Development & Growth

  • Build a team culture where impact over output is the standard; success is measured by what changes because of research

  • Develop researchers who form and communicate strong points of view, not just report findings

  • Stay close to your team’s work, performance, and growth; give direct, constructive feedback

  • Create a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement

Research Leadership & Operations

  • Refine and scale how research works across teams, including intake, prioritization, and delivery

  • Guide research from early discovery through validation and post-launch assessment

  • Strengthen how research connects to product decisions

  • Ensure research outputs are decision-ready, with clear implications, confidence, and next steps

  • Enable PMs and designers to run research with clear tools, frameworks, and guardrails

  • Connect research with telemetry and customer feedback to create a unified view of the customer

Stakeholder Leadership

  • Own the UXR relationship with product and design leadership

  • Set clear expectations for how and when to engage research

  • Represent UXR in planning with a clear point of view on where research reduces risk and accelerates decisions

  • Challenge assumptions and reframe requests around decision value, using clear, constructive communication in moments that require leadership and influence

  • Ensure clear ownership and escalation paths when research is bypassed, misused, or creates risk

Methods and Innovation

  • Apply AI-assisted research methods where they improve speed, scale, or synthesis quality (ex. automated tagging, clustering, large-scale qualitative analysis)

  • Maintain high standards of rigor as methods evolve

Success in This Role

  • Research informs decisions that lead to measurable improvements in product adoption, retention, or customer experience

  • Product teams consistently engage UXR early in the development process

  • Time-to-insight decreases without sacrificing quality or depth

  • Insights are connected across research, telemetry, and customer feedback

Who You Are

  • 7+ years of UX research experience, including direct people management in a product organization

  • Demonstrated ownership of team performance and talent development • Experience shaping how research programs work within a product organization

  • Demonstrated impact on product decisions or measurable outcomes

  • Strong ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative research and behavioral data

  • Trusted partner to product and design leadership in complex environments

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building structure where it does not yet exist

Bonus Points

  • Experience in data, analytics, or AI platform products

  • Experience with product adoption, onboarding, or PLG environments

  • Experience working closely with telemetry or product analytics teams

  • Hands-on experience applying AI in research workflows, including emerging methods such as AI-moderated studies or synthetic users
