ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager, Tax will lead a team responsible for excise tax across Anheuser-Busch's Macro, Craft, and Wholesaler business units. This role is accountable for driving the execution of key business priorities while ensuring full compliance with federal and state excise tax regulations.

You will provide strategic direction, operational oversight, and technical expertise to the excise tax function-partnering cross-functionally to support business initiatives, enhance processes, and ensure accurate and timely reporting in a dynamic, highly regulated environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the preparation and filing of excise tax returns, the management of excise tax audits, and government inquiries
  • Responsible for monthly financial close, journal entries, accrual calculations, and related documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, standards, and regulations (Excise Tax- Federal and State guidelines, SOX, IFRS, etc.)
  • Act as the escalation point for internal and external customers, including business unit management, to resolve issues
  • Proven experience analyzing complex issues, documenting, and presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ability to drive the excise tax structure with integration of new business initiatives and demands without an existing process
  • Project management for multiple inflows/process improvement efforts
  • Lead and drive process improvement and change management initiatives

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required, CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • 3+ years tax accounting experience
  • 2+ years leading less complex business projects
  • Current and extensive working knowledge of excise tax- Federal and State guidelines as well as the ability to stay up to date on changing regulations and reporting requirements (preferred but not required)
  • Understanding of the different TTB regulations around beer, cider, wine, and distilled spirits (preferred but not required)
  • Management experience with proven organizational and leadership skills (not required)
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize work, delegate responsibilities, and manage processes
  • Ability to influence others to meet business objectives and drive process improvements
  • Manage outsourced work scope, including the ability to review and/or provide support for tasks completed by offshore resources
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, including advanced proficiency with Excel
  • Proficiency with SAP or similar ERP systems
