A Brief Overview
A Home Medical Equipment (HME)/Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Branch Manager oversees daily operational, financial, and personnel activities at a local branch, ensuring regulatory compliance, profitability, and high-quality patient care. They manage equipment inventory, staff training, and referral relationships, focusing on efficient delivery of home respiratory and medical equipment.
What you will do
- Oversee daily on site branch operations, including inventory control, equipment maintenance, and patient delivery logistics.
- Hire, train, and evaluate staff to ensure all required competencies are achieved and maintained. Ensure ongoing learning and annual competencies are met.
- Proactively identify and resolve operational issues and develop improved methods to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with the Avera@Home HME leadership team on annual budget preparation, including revenue and expense projections.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, physicians, and health systems to support growth and retention.
- Partner with the leadership team to ensure consistent implementation of policies, procedures, protocols, and standard work, driving ongoing efficiency and cost reduction efforts.
- Monitor branch KPIs, manages profit and loss (P&L), and executes strategies to improve profitability.
- Ensure full compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, FDA, DOT, JCAHO, HQAA, and all other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Participate in state, regional, and national industry activities while fostering collaborative relationships across the Avera@Home HME network.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills in all interactions.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential Qualifications
The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Bachelor's from a college or university; 2 or more years of DME/HME related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Drivers License- Licensing Board A valid driver's license and that the employee is insurable by Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier. Upon Hire
