Job Description

The Manager, Bank Operations is primarily responsible for providing management level department support. Through effective management of direct reports, this position ensures all departmental operations are completed timely and accurately. The successful Manager, Bank Operations will evaluate processes and procedures, identify areas for improvement, and enhance process efficiency while reducing risk and need for manual intervention. This position works independently, but with a clear understanding of when to seek upper management intervention and involvement. This position requires strong verbal and written communications/interactions on a variety of levels, as well as external BOKF customers.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will evaluate processes and procedures, identify areas for improvement, and enhance process efficiency while reducing risk and need for manual intervention, work independently, but with a clear understanding of when to seek upper management intervention and involvement, use strong verbal and written communications/interactions on a variety of levels, as well as external BOKF customers.
  • You will manage departmental activity via first line supervisors or team lead; determines work priorities, recommend personnel actions including hiring, performance management, salary recommendations, and terminations, ensures productivity and quality standards are met through training and development of personnel.
  • You will provide input in the development of short term financial plan and expense management by monitoring general ledger account balance; ensuring general ledger accounts are balanced daily to post opening balances for the next business day, you will be responsible for creation and/or review of tracking logs, monthly management reporting, compliance reporting and other reporting, as needed.
  • You will execute projects by providing advanced analytical, design planning and testing expertise needed to ensure a quality product is implemented and negative impact to customers minimized, evaluate processes and procedures and identifies areas for improvement to enhances process efficiency.
  • You will maintain relationships with key internal and external business partners across the organization, identify external business needs through a basic understanding of the overall organization.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Banking and/or Accounting related field of study and 5-6 years in operations with 2 - 3 years in a leadership position or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of applicable Federal and State regulatory compliance including: Anti-Money Laundering, Office of Foreign Assets and Control, Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act and Sarbanes Oxley, Reg E, Reg CC, UCC4A.
  • Excellent PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills, good mathematical skills
  • Strong knowledge of banking principles
  • Strong understanding of transaction management, document managing, and imaging
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices (debit, credit, accounts payables and receivables)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to use sound judgment in decision making
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, interpersonal and written)
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work flexible hours
  • Team oriented and willing to assist others
  • Customer Service skills and/or experience
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast pace, high volume environment & adaptable to change.
