Job Summary

Summary

Responsible for managing the recruitment, engagement, and retention of contingent nursing and allied staff to meet fluctuating staffing needs. Oversees the development and implementation of talent acquisition strategies to build a pipeline of qualified contingent nursing professionals. Collaborates with nursing and allied leadership and human resources to ensure contingent staffing aligns with clinical requirements and operational goals.

Essential Functions

  • Develops and executes strategies for recruiting and onboarding contingent nursing and allied staff to meet short-term and long-term staffing needs.
  • Collaborates with nursing and allied leaders and HR to assess staffing requirements and ensure the right talent is sourced to meet demand.
  • Manages the performance and engagement of contingent nursing staff, including handling scheduling, compliance, and credentialing.
  • Builds and maintains a pipeline of qualified nursing candidates through job fairs, networking, and partnerships with nursing schools and staffing agencies.
  • Oversees contingent staff contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Monitors staffing trends and adjusts recruitment strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective staffing solutions.
  • Fosters a positive working environment for contingent nurses/allied staff, ensuring proper integration and communication with permanent nursing staff.
  • Evaluates contingent nursing and allied staff performance and provides feedback for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing required
  • Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Licenses and Credentials

  • Registered Nurse [RN - State License]

Experience

  • 3-5 years experience in talent acquisition, workforce planning, or nursing management required
  • 2-3 years experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • 2-3 years experience managing contingent or temporary staff preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of recruitment processes and workforce management in healthcare.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across departments.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and talent management software.
  • Ability to analyze staffing data and trends to optimize talent acquisition strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines effectively.
